As of June 23rd, 2008 Kennedy Carpet Cleaners have added a new “Green” service package utilizing Prochems Axiom line of products. Our “Green” services are in response to a commitment to continuous environmental responsibility. Kennedy’s now is utilizing advances in natural detergents in addition to our existing products. The Axiom line meets or exceeds EPA Design for the Environment guidelines. Axiom is bio-degradable, phosphate-free & VOC compliant.

In-Plant Rug Cleaning
This type of Carpet Cleaning is ideal for specialized cleaning of oriental rugs, area rugs that cannot be cleaned in the home and high value rugs. Each rug receives the additional time and attention to provide the most thorough cleaning possible. Then each rug is hung to dry in a controlled air environment.
Carpet Cleaning
For Carpet Cleaning Kennedy’s follows the direction of the carpet industry manufacturing leaders and uses Hot Water Extraction Method for most carpets. Also adhering to the IICRC S-100 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Carpet Cleaning we utilize the most up to date techniques for maintaining your carpet. We steps include, first, a pre-spray mix of surfacants and solvents is applied to the area to be cleaned. This ensures adequate dwell time for the chemical reaction to take place. For areas with evident food stains, a second enzyme pre-spray can be used. Utilizing different pre-sprays ensure that whatever has soiled your carpets will be dissolved and thus become able to be rinsed away by the extraction cleaning to follow. When we rense and vacuum-extract the carpet, the water contains only a natural detergent that is extracted with the soil. This results in residue-free carpets after the cleaning.
In most cases we use a Truck Mounted cleaning machine that is outside the home or office. We also utilize Portable Cleaning Systems for any job that is beyond the reach of a truck-mount. Kennedy’s also has the ability to Dry Clean or ‘Shampoo’ a carpet if required. All of Kennedy’s Carpet Cleaners are IICRC certified in Carpet Cleaning.
Upholstery Cleaning (Furniture Cleaning)
For Upholstery Cleaning Kennedy’s follows the IICRC S300 Standard for professional upholstery cleaning. Our upholstery cleaning techniques are similar to those used on carpets. We use selected detergents or solutions to match the varied nature of fabrics used in furniture. We also have a dry cleaning process that can be used safely when cleaning upholstery in the home. All of Kennedy's Cleaners are IIRCRC certified in Upholstery Cleaning.
Leather Cleaning
At Kennedy’s we Dry clean leather with chemical sponges, and/or towels with solvent. Finish as needed with a cream or oil-based leather cleaner applied by hand. Suede pile can be lifted with a metal carding brush. For simulated leather (vinyl or naugahyde) a wet cleaning process using appropriate leather cleaner will be utilized. We also have experience with Nubuk or Aniline leathers. Kennedy’s can handle most of your leather cleaning needs and all leather cleaning is done in accordance with the IICRC S-300 Standards.
Drapes Cleaning
Drapes are cleaned in similar manner to Upholstery following the same IICRC S300 standard. Due to the extremely wide variety of fabrics and designs a thorough pre-inspection reviewing the most safe and effective method for cleaning will be performed. Following the pre-inspection we will clean with the appropriate method as with Upholstery.
Hot Water Extraction
Hot Water Extraction is commonly referred to as ‘Steam Cleaning’ although no steam is actually generated. The process consists of hot detergent solution is injected under pressure. The soil is then suspended in the solution and extracted with a carpet wand. The extraction removes the soil, solution and excess moisture
